Biography

Born in 1950, I arrived in Australia in 1970. After completing the Diploma in Advanced Ceramics at Perth Technical College in 1982, I set up a workshop at my home in Perth, Western Australia, producing a range of functional ceramics, garden terracotta and sculptural pieces. In 2001, I moved to Denmark on the south coast of Western Australia and I now focus mainly on sculptural pieces.

My work, which consists of small to medium sized sculptures are made from terracotta clay that is press moulded and/or thrown. They are bisque fired and then smoked in sawdust to achieve earthy red/brown/black colours. The sculptures often have earth bases that are part of, and interact with, the ceramic form.

The Studio

Denmark - where the forest meets the sea...

Denmark is located on the south coast of Western Australia. It is well known for its natural beauty, the wild coastline and protected inlets, a wealth of wildflowers and bird species galore.

This is where you find my studio, tucked away in the valley at Lapko Road, 5 kilometres west of Denmark, just off the South Coast Highway (Click here to view the map).

Here you can see the latest work on display: horses, angels, birds, fish, boats... and much more!
